From the most routine births to the most complex, Sarasota Memorial is equipped to help you deliver your baby (or babies) in the safest, most natural way possible. Sarasota Memorial is nationally recognized for its maternity‑obstetrical services, compassionate and skilled nursing team, breastfeeding support and high‑risk pregnancy care. Located on the SMH‑Sarasota Campus, our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) serves premature babies and other newborns needing critical care.
With an Obstetrical Emergency Care Center dedicated to pregnant women, SMH‑Sarasota has board‑certified OB hospitalists available around‑the‑clock to examine patients, handle emergencies and provide a safe delivery for laboring women who do not have a physician. Our team of obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, perinatologists, neonatologists and pediatric specialists, and our affiliation with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, ensure that mothers and children have access to the most advanced care in the nation, from pregnancy through pediatrics.
Job Details This is a full time opportunity for experienced L&D Registered Nurses with minimally two years of L&D experience. Unit shift hours are 6:00 PM-6:30 AM. Weekends, holidays and mandatory on‑call shifts are required. NRP certification within 90 days of employment required. Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.
Salary Details Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $34.10, max of salary range is $52.80. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.
Required Qualifications
Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
Require Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire in accordance with the NRP curriculum of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association.
Require any neonatal certification obtained during employment will be maintained during the remainder of employment. These include but are not limited to: High Risk Neonatal Nursing Certification, Neonatal Transport Certification, Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification, any Lactation Certification.
Preferred Education BSN: Bachelor of Science Nursing
Required License and Certs BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
