DONOR ROOM PHLEBOTOMIST
Our Blood Institute
is actively seeking qualified candidates for a rewarding position that is responsible for providing a safe and pleasant blood donation experience for donors. This role offers world‑class paid on‑the‑job training with no experience required.
Qualifications : Considered applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. College classes are a plus.
Location : Edmond, OK
Pay : Competitive pay based on experience; additional pay for technical school certification, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, fluent Spanish; world‑class paid on‑the‑job training; $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year.
Benefits : Health, dental, vision, life insurance, long‑term disability, 401(k), paid time‑off, $5,000 annual tuition reimbursement, annual uniform allowance, etc.
Days and Hours : Varied based on when blood drives are scheduled.
Primary Responsibilities :
Perform registration, vitals, medical screening, phlebotomy, heat sealing duties, and record keeping for whole‑blood, autologous, directed, therapeutic, testing services, and research projects.
Strictly adhere to all standard operating procedures ensuring all blood products are collected within the quality standards set by regulatory agencies including the FDA.
Assist supervisor in verifying and completing daily paperwork.
Alert the supervisor of any problems or concerns related to equipment, venipuncture, donor questions/issues, or equipment performance.
Continually assess donor needs throughout the donation process, including evaluating and treating donor reactions.
Educate donors on blood facts such as donation frequency and the need for blood products.
Assist with additional duties assigned by supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
Reliable transportation.
Working telephone.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Ability to lift 40 lbs regularly.
Detail oriented, on‑time, reliable, good communicator, and works well with others.
