We are partnered with a unique client in the Wilmington area, seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support financial oversight across multiple construction projects. This role partners closely with project managers and senior leadership to ensure accurate budgeting, cost tracking, billing, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
Prepare, review, and process invoices, pay applications, and change orders
Monitor job cost reports and investigate variances
Support month-end close and project financial reporting
Partner with operations and leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations
Maintain compliance with company policies and contract requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based work
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Excel and ERP systems (QuickBooks Online preferred, but not required)
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Ability to travel within the continental U.S., up to 40% when needed
