Remote DRG/PCS IP Facility Coder
for a full‑time position. The role is located at the Reverend Hugh Cooper Administrative Center, and work days are scheduled in the United States.
Responsibilities
Code inpatient, outpatient, ED, Home Health, Hospice, and professional fee services using ICD‑10‑CM, CPT‑4, and related classification systems.
Review the complete current medical record and assign appropriate CPT, ICD, and MS‑DRG codes for financial reimbursement.
Research medical records through multiple systems and generate queries when needed to complete coding in a timely manner.
Take responsibility for accounts receivable by identifying missing documents and ensuring all encounters are coded.
Maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements, including ICD‑10‑CM, CPT‑4, HCPCS, DRG, APC, and HHRG updates.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Must hold at least one of the following coding certifications at time of hire: CCS, CCS‑P, CPC‑H, RHIT, or RHIA. The certification must be achieved within one year of hire.
Three to five years of professional coding experience required.
