Pool Engineer – OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark
Join the engineering team at OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark, located in Oklahoma City, OK. In this customer‑facing role, you will focus on maintaining the safety and operation of our indoor waterpark pools and surrounding equipment.
About the Role The Waterpark Engineer is responsible for daily inspections, chemical checks, preventive maintenance, and repairs to keep the waterpark and its equipment in immaculate condition. You will communicate with the Assistant Director of Engineering and Waterpark Engineering Supervisor regarding all aspects of waterpark engineering operations. Leadership, organization, and safety are key components of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Communicate with the Assistant Director of Engineering and Waterpark Engineering Supervisor regarding all aspects of waterpark engineering operations.
Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics that inspire employees to meet and exceed standards.
Establish and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
Inspect and document waterpark, equipment, hazards, systems, and general engineering operations.
Maintain work areas clean and organized.
Monitor and control parts and labor expenditures.
Prioritize all work requests, ensuring handling of guest problems, staff problems, and internal waterpark challenges.
Promote employee empowerment.
Report and resolve all unsafe conditions immediately.
Select, train, supervise, develop, discipline, and counsel employees according to company policies and procedures.
Inspect pools and features and perform necessary repairs.
Conduct daily chemical checks and make corrections immediately if needed.
Maintain and repair all waterpark equipment, including conveyor systems, wave generators, pumps, motors, filters, and chemical feeders.
Complete other duties assigned by supervisor.
Maintain ongoing capital improvement files.
Perform in the capacity of any position supervised.
Attend all mandatory meetings.
Conduct performance appraisals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
CPO license preferred; must have a CPO license or industrial pool knowledge, or be able to achieve a CPO license within 90 days.
English fluency (read, write, speak).
Strong technical skills in mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, or related fields.
Computer proficiency for work order and preventive maintenance software.
