Job Details We are seeking a Civil Defense Litigation Associate to join our Los Angeles office in the heart of Downtown/Bunker Hill. This is a full-time opportunity with flexibility for in-office or hybrid work, depending on the candidate's preference. Reputable firm with flexible hybrid schedule and clear track to partnership.
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Responsibilities
Independently manage a caseload of civil defense litigation matters with minimal supervision
Handle all phases of litigation, including written discovery, depositions, court appearances, mediations, law and motion practice, and trial preparation
Serve as the primary handling attorney on assigned cases, with regular client communication and updates
Work closely with a collaborative team of experienced litigators in a supportive, team-driven environment
Deliver high‑quality legal work within a 1,900‑hour annual billable requirement
Qualifications
2–8 years of experience in civil litigation defense
Strong preference for candidates with experience in public entity defense, insurance defense, or business litigation
Ability to take ownership of cases and thrive with autonomy
Licensed and in good standing with the California Bar
Benefits
Salary range $150,000 – $200,000, based on experience
