Summary
The Reliability Engineer plays a critical role in strengthening equipment performance across the organization. This position focuses on applying sound engineering principles, industry codes, and proven best practices to support maintenance, capital projects, and long‑term asset reliability. A key focus of the role is developing and executing inspection, testing, and preventative maintenance strategies for rotating equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously refine reliability standards, specifications, and best practices for rotating equipment across all operating sites.
Lead the mechanical integrity program for rotating equipment, ensuring compliance and alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical expertise for equipment upgrades, repairs, new installations, and major maintenance events—including project development, turnaround planning, commissioning, and startup.
Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and performance evaluations to diagnose issues, recommend mitigation strategies, and guide improvements to reliability‑centered maintenance programs.
Analyze equipment trends and historical/real‑time data to enhance asset availability, reduce life‑cycle cost, and optimize overall plant performance.
Support site teams during unplanned equipment failures, offering advanced troubleshooting when issues exceed standard maintenance capabilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
5–10 years of experience in refining, chemical, petrochemical, or similar continuous‑process industries, including at least 3–5 years working directly with rotating equipment.
Strong proficiency in advanced rotating equipment monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) in a continuous operations environment.
Solid understanding of applicable ASME and API codes and standards.
Preferred certifications: ISO Level I or II Vibration Analysis, Lubrication Level I, CMRP or CRE.
