Compensation Analyst – Hedge Fund – Up to $300k TC - Excellent Progression
My client, a global hedge fund expanding its presence in the US, is looking to hire a Compensation Specialist to be based in the firm’s New York office.
Reporting to the Global Head of Rewards and supported by a well‑structured HR team, the hire will step into a newly created role taking ownership of rewards, compensation and benefits operations and strategic delivery across the firm’s US coverage – with potential to expand to additional regions over time. One of the first priorities will be to own, drive and centralise cyclical processes, working closely with HR Business Partners on performance reviews, bonus structures and appraisals. The hire will provide strategic solutions and expert advice to multiple stakeholders, combining in-depth knowledge of total reward principles with an understanding of the business needs, market and regulatory landscape, and detailed analysis & models.
Design, delivery, and management of compensation frameworks.
Provide in-depth knowledge of key financial performance metrics and drive improvements in internal modelling capabilities.
Act as SME on total reward plans, track buy‑side peers, and improve internal package structures to remain competitive.
Lead reverse benchmarking research to boost attractiveness.
Play a key role in making HR a more data‑driven and quantitative function.
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience as a Compensation Specialist/Total Reward Specialist supporting employees at all levels (Junior to C‑Suite) at a leading hedge fund, investment bank or private equity firm.
Comfortable with a flat structure, able to take a hands‑on approach while stepping back for strategic decisions.
Seeking a professional who can take on more responsibility and autonomy.
We have budgeted up to $300k in year one for a strong performer. The firm offers fantastic benefits and will provide a sign‑on bonus to ensure the hire is not walking away for any year‑end rewards.
Additional Information
Seniority level: Associate
Employment type: Full‑time
Job function: Human Resources and Finance
Industries: Investment Management, Financial Services, Human Resources Services
