Community Manager – Asset Living
Company Overview
– Asset Living is a third‑party management firm dedicated to fostering thriving communities nationwide. Founded in 1986, the company has grown from a small property management firm to a trusted partner serving diverse segments such as multifamily, single‑family, affordable housing, build‑to‑rent, active adult and student housing.
Position Overview
– The Community Manager supervises all day‑to‑day operations of a housing community under the Regional Manager’s guidance, ensuring compliance with Asset’s policies, safety regulations and fair‑housing laws.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Personnel Management – screen, hire, train, coach and develop on‑site staff; maintain schedules and performance records.
Financial Management – achieve net operating income targets, control costs, manage rent collections, reconcile deposits, and oversee vendor invoicing.
Strategic Leasing Management – develop marketing plans, secure lease closures, handle resident complaints, and implement resident retention programs.
Administrative & Maintenance Management – ensure accurate reporting, manage emergency response, monitor service requests, maintain property appearance, and supervise maintenance and rehabilitation activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent with /or four year’s experience in the housing industry; or a combination of education and experience.
Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred.
Basic computer proficiency and understanding of on‑site software functions.
Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
Physical Requirements
Communicate with others, perform repetitive hand motions, and assess work quality regularly.
Stand or sit for prolonged periods, move between work sites, ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and work in various environments.
Handle objects up to 25 lbs, operate machinery or power tools, and work in extreme temperatures or hazardous chemicals.
License/Equipment
Reliable transportation is required for on‑call emergency duties.
Compensation & Benefits
– Competitive compensation package includes base salary, possible commission/bonus, 401(k) with employer match, health, dental, vision, life, accidental and disability insurance, paid sick days and company holidays.
Salary Range:
$85,000 – $90,000 per year.
