Job Description Manage and maximize the financial performance of the HCC and Cosmetics department while maintaining excellence in customer service and sales. Fred Meyer requires that all associates perform tasks safely, in accordance with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Responsibilities

Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to provide excellent customer service.

Maintain compliance with corporate policies and divisional standards (merchandising, food safety, stationing, conditioning, stockroom, fixture usage, quality ordering, shrink control, shipping/receiving, salvage, freight procedures).

Plan ads/store events; manage and execute planograms and department merchandising.

Verify implementation of weekly Merchandise Specialist Notes, Off‑Shelf Merchandising Notes, and Period Planners to complete merchandising assignments.

Schedule and verify price changes.

Receive and process freight.

Perform inventory control functions as required.

Verify ads and promotions meet standards.

Build displays according to plans.

Monitor over‑stock and under‑stock conditions; maintain ordering system integrity.

Process E‑40 transfers and callbacks.

Interview and hire new personnel.

Partner with the Grocery department leader to write schedules.

Monitor daily/weekly sales; prepare profit/loss reviews.

Maintain salvage procedures and manage the inventory process.

Manage common associate areas (e.g., break rooms, training areas) to ensure a welcoming appearance.

Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.

Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications Minimum

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience directing or participating on project teams.

Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.

Fred Meyer lift truck certification/license.

Minimum age 18 (19 in Idaho/Alaska if selling tobacco).

Exceptional customer service skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to manage direct reports.

Strong time‑management skills.

Ability to work within strict deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to coach and train.

Strong attention to detail.

Desired

Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
