Job Description
Manage and maximize the financial performance of the HCC and Cosmetics department and maintain excellence in customer service and sales. Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Responsibilities
Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
Maintain compliance with corporate policies/divisional standards including merchandising, food safety, signing, conditioning, stockroom, fixtures usage and maintenance, quality ordering functions, shrink control, shipping/receiving, salvage, freight receiving/stocking procedure
Plan ads/store events; manage/execute planograms and department merchandising
Verify implementation of weekly Merchandise Specialists Notes, Off-Shelf Merchandising Notes, and Period Planners to complete merchandising assignments
Schedule completion of price changes
Receive and process freight
Perform inventory control functions, as required
Verify ads and promotions are set to standard
Build displays to plans
Verify accuracy on price changes
Monitor overstock/understock conditions
Process E-40 Transfers
Process callbacks
Interview and hire new personnel
Monitor overstock/understock conditions to maintain ordering system integrity
Partner with Grocery department leader to write schedule
Monitor daily/weekly sales; prepare profit/loss reviews
Maintain salvage procedures; manage inventory process
Work with associates to manage all common associate areas (i.e. break rooms and training areas) to make sure they are inviting in appearance and reflect “Our People Are Great”
Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications
Minimum
High School Diploma or GED
Any experience directing/participating on project teams
Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes
Fred Meyer lift truck certification/license
Minimum 18 years of age/19 years in Idaho/19 in Alaska if selling tobacco
Exceptional customer service skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage direct reports
Strong time management skills
Ability to work within strict time frames/resolute deadlines
Demonstrated ability to coach and train
Strong attention to detail
Desired
Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
Proficient in Microsoft Office
