Attorney – Transportation Practice, Lewis Brisbois, Phoenix, AZ.
Overview The Phoenix, AZ office of Lewis Brisbois, a full‑service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to join its Transportation Practice. The firms attorneys are extensively involved in the defense of the trucking industry, representing freight carriers, transportation brokers, truck insurers, public entities, school bus operators, long and short haul truckers, and waste management groups engaged in both intra‑state and interstate transportation. We have considerable litigation and trial experience and have dealt with a broad variety of issues that are pervasive in the industry, including negligent hiring and retention, hours of service, Engine Control Module (ECM) data, messaging and positioning data, DOT compliance, and accident reconstruction.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in Arizona and possess one (1) to seven (7) years of experience in insurance defense, specifically handling cases involving heavy trucking, tractor trailers, and cargo and freight carriers. Qualified candidates must be comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, as well as taking and defending depositions. Candidates should have strong writing and analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will be a self‑starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation. Lewis Brisbois offers a range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) with employer match. Salary ranges from $135,000 to $190,000 annually.
