The Phoenix, AZ office of Lewis Brisbois, a full‑service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to join its Transportation Practice.
Responsibilities
Represent freight carriers, transportation brokers, truck insurers, public entities, school bus operators, long and short haul truckers, and waste management groups in both intra‑state and interstate transportation matters.
Handle a broad variety of cases including negligent hiring and retention, hours of service, Engine Control Module (ECM) data, messaging and positioning data, DOT compliance, and accident reconstruction.
Draft and respond to discovery and initial pleadings, draft and argue motions, and take and defend depositions.
Manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment as a self‑starter, working independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
Admitted to practice in Arizona.
One (1) to seven (7) years of experience in insurance defense, specifically handling cases involving heavy trucking, tractor trailers, and cargo and freight carriers.
Strong writing and analytical skills.
