Responsibilities The financial coordinator is responsible for financial transactions primarily performed in Workday. This position is responsible for maintaining current knowledge of, interpreting and applying, applicable University policies as well as what is allowable per federal and grant guidelines. The Financial Coordinator will have a strong working knowledge of the Brown Chart of Accounts and policies and protocols related to transaction coding and approval. This position is expected to be highly customer focused and responsive to requests as they arise.
This is a grant-funded position with an end date of August 31, 2030, with potential for renewal depending on available funding and university need.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
Experience in an academic setting preferred.
Job Competencies
Proficient in financial reporting and spreadsheet applications with attention to detail
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, spreadsheets, and databases
Customer service experience with a strong service-minded philosophy
Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot issues when appropriate
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment
Salary Grade
8
Additional Information: A background check must be completed prior to employment. Applicants are asked to include a resume and cover letter. This position is largely onsite, but remote work is occasionally possible when in-person sessions are not running.
