Base pay range:
$80,000.00 – $120,000.00
(actual pay based on skills and experience; discuss with recruiter).
Key Responsibilities
Build, manage and grow a book of business with active buyers and suppliers.
Source lumber and related building materials from mills, manufacturers and trading partners.
Sell full truckload and mixed-load shipments to distributors, reloads, wholesalers and end customers.
Track market trends, pricing movement and supply‑demand conditions.
Execute back‑to‑back trades while maintaining minimal ground inventory.
Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules to maximize margins.
Provide customers with timely product availability, pricing insights and market updates.
Coordinate logistics to ensure efficient and on‑time deliveries.
Maintain accurate records of trades, margins and customer activity.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3+ years of experience in lumber trading, commodity trading or building materials sales.
Existing book of business or established relationships within the lumber industry.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to price and execute decisively.
Comfortable managing a fast‑paced, high‑volume trading environment.
Solid knowledge of lumber species, grades, markets and industry terminology.
Highly organized with strong time‑management skills.
Customer‑focused mindset with an emphasis on long‑term partnerships.
Self‑motivated and capable of working independently.
