Responsibilities
Oversee the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods.
Follow the merchandising bulk plan and ensure your team is properly packaging and scaling bulk items, filling bulk bins, and preparing, wrapping, and pricing bulk packages accurately and legibly.
Order and maintain inventory, rotate product using code dates, and follow the company’s cleaning and sanitation program.
Ensure compliance with all company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations.
Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, and the bulk area is clean and orderly at all times.
Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
Coach, give feedback, and conduct one‑on‑one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via the bi‑annual performance review process.
Attend and participate in in‑store meetings.
Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns and document corrective actions as needed.
Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Lead a team that delivers the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience.
Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
Qualifications
At least 18 years of age.
1‑2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment plus 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
Dependable with a flexible schedule: nights, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of weekly ad items and ability to give customers direction to product locations; general housekeeping duties in the department.
Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
Physical ability to transfer product weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4″ to 36″, for a distance of up to 4 ft., for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance; continuous standing for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
Ability to perform other related duties as assigned.
