seeks a mission-driven and emotionally intelligent financial professional to become the Director of Finance & Administration of its $5M+ nonprofit community addiction treatment network based in Midland, Michigan (www.1016.org). This role is part of a planned leadership transition, with access consultative support during onboarding to ensure continuity and a smooth handoff. The organization is intentionally evolving the position to align with its next phase of growth, systems development, and cross-functional leadership. Ten16 is ready to hire the right candidate as soon as practical for this full-time, onsite, leadership position.
The Role: As
Director of Finance & Administration , you will integrate Ten16's financial stewardship, people strategy, and resource allocation to foster comprehensive organizational health, drive the agency’s mission forward and ensure sustainable growth for the future. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving on the executive leadership team, the Director will advise management, staff, and the Board on the strategic and operational decisions that strengthen financial resilience, evolve organizational infrastructure, position the agency to responsibly scale its impact, and thrive in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. The Director will serve as a working executive while providing operational oversight for a broad portfolio of financial, business, and administrative functions, ensuring systems, processes, and resources are aligned to organizational priorities. This role offers the opportunity to assess existing practices, introduce thoughtful improvements, and help shape the next phase of Ten16’s operational and financial model.
Strong analytical and financial modeling capability is essential. The Director will regularly develop pro forma analyses, staffing and utilization forecasts, and trend analyses to inform strategic planning and business decisions. Candidates must demonstrate mastery of Excel or other advanced modeling tools capable of supporting rigorous, scenario-based financial analysis and forward-looking decision support.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or other Master’s degree preferred).
7+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance and administration, preferably in non-profit behavioral health or human services.
Experience working with complex funding streams (grants, cost reimbursement contracts, fee-for-service lines of business, third party insurance, etc.).
Strong business management skills with demonstrated experience in oversight of financial reporting and accounting and the integration of financial and administrative operations.
Experience supervising staff and managing cross-functional teams.
The ability to balance strategic thinking and data-driven analyses with hands‑on operations.
A professional communication style reflected by active, respectful listening and reflective, articulate verbal and written skills.
Strong emotional intelligence and cultural humility in navigating personnel and organizational dynamics.
Passion for mission‑driven work and alignment with Ten16’s values.
Experience working with a Board of Directors or its Finance Committee is a must.
Knowledge of essential HR principles & functions and nonprofit compliance are a plus.
