JOB SUMMARY UT Southwestern Medical Center has an opening within the Department of Revenue Cycle for a Supervisor. The duties will include and are not limited to the following:

Supervising day‑to‑day operations of Clinical Denials Surgical team (7) direct reports

Ensure production and quality control standards are met

Provide required training for the team

Identify and analyze payer issues and communicate/educate the team

Strong A/R Follow‑up background for professional fee services

Large healthcare organization experience preferred

Work From Home: Applicant must live in Texas. Preferred candidates will live in the Greater DFW area. Additional details shall be discussed during the interview.

Shift: 8‑hour days, Monday through Friday.

EXPERIENCE 5 years of supervisory experience and 5 years of experience working in a clinical revenue cycle environment. Experience in needed specialty area, such as transplant, may be considered on a year for year basis for up to 3 years in lieu of supervisory experience.

PREFERRED

Education Associate's degree and may be considered in lieu of years of experience. Bachelor's Degree and may be considered in lieu of years of experience. Master's Degree and may be considered in lieu of years of experience.

Experience Coding certifications (CPC, CPMA, CMC, ART, RRA, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA) and/or degrees (associate level, bachelor level, master level) preferred and may be considered in lieu of years of experience.

JOB DUTIES

Exercises responsibility for establishing, reviewing, and revising internal revenue cycle controls/procedures, and workflow to achieve maximum efficiency and personnel utilization; ensures production and quality control standards are met by reviewing management reports.

Reviews and analyzes information, identifies problems, recommends solutions and/or writes reports for management or other personnel.

Ensure timely revenue cycle work queue metrics are achieved by their direct reports; assigns workload to meet production requirements; compiles, analyzes and reports status and issues involving all aspects of assigned area; makes recommendations to management to reflect changes by reviewing management reports and other data, identifies conflicts and writes resolutions.

Monitor charge entry and charge capture quality control thru routine staff and process auditing; ensure charge reconciliation monitoring occurs by Team Leaders.

Maintains performance standards by counseling employees, performing appraisals and providing required training; assists with quality control testing and reporting.

Ensures departmental policies and procedures are properly followed; develops and revises policies and procedures as needed; maintains written procedures for workflow by writing or updating procedures as needed; communicates and educates all applicable information to appropriate personnel and affiliated facilities as required.

Completes special projects and participates in project groups and tasks force teams.

Backs up manager and employees as required during vacations, sickness, transitions or other absences.

May supervise/oversee specialized transplant patient referrals.

Performs other duties as assigned.
