Responsibilities

Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects

Lead the development of roadway geometric design tasks, including alignments, profiles, and other roadway geometric elements

Lead the development of plans, design reports, design calculations and construction cost estimates.

Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations

Perform additional related duties as required to support project and team success

Preferred Qualifications

Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate

Proficient with MicroStation and familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d

Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression

Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

FDOT design experience strongly preferred

Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field
