Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform about promotions, recommend items, apply selling behaviours, and thank guests.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, sales initiatives, and guest relationships that drive repeat business.
Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS computer system, including giving receipts and ensuring top‑notch service.
Respond to guest comments or calls promptly, courteously, and professionally; elevate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits such as the new title reservations, trade‑in, and Pro Rewards loyalty programs.
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations, training associates on policies, procedures, and performance goals.
Observe associate performance, provide feedback to the Store Manager, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed.
Provide timely recognition and feedback to associates, inputting written feedback into Workday/HR systems.
Ensure associates complete onboarding, training, and compliance before operating shifts.
Help schedule associates, maintain staffing levels, and ensure optimal guest service.
Approve payroll time‑off entries and verify associates are paid for all hours worked.
Maintain store cleanliness and fixture equipment; ensure Omni‑Channel orders are fulfilled daily.
Protect company assets with inventory control and loss prevention practices; inspect associates’ packages at closing or shift end.
Support sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
Perform inventory counts, stock restock, and ensure products are organized on the sales floor.
Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions, complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits.
Verify shipments for discrepancies, record any issues, and communicate them to management.
Process defectives, recalls, and stock pulls accurately.
Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety, report injuries promptly.
Assist in maintaining store records and manuals.
Supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence.
Adhere to all GameStop policies, procedures, and the Associate Handbook.
Follow opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Minimum age 18 years.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Lift merchandise up to 30 lbs. and perform basic physical tasks.
Acquire understanding of military ranks and insignia for stores on military bases (if applicable).
