Requirements

A Bachelor of Arts in English or a related field is required.

Primary Responsibilities

The Graduate Assistantship in English is a position that allows students to work in positions of tutoring, teaching, editing, and/or research, depending on programmatic needs.

Students may receive training and give presentations at conferences in relation to these roles.

They can work as tutors for SRSU's online Writing Center, serve as editors for SRSU's art and literature journal, The Sage, and teach freshman writing courses.

Graduate assistants may teach under the supervision of a faculty mentor after they have accumulated 18 SCHs in the field of English.

Responsible for personal safety and safety of others; must exercise caution and practice safe work habits at all times.
