Tulane University School of Medicine
Postdoctoral Scholar, River Coastal Science & Engineering - Modelling Sea-Level
Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, 70123
A post‑doctoral scholar position is available immediately in the Sea Level Lab of Dr. Sönke Dangendorf at Tulane University to work on NSF and NASA funded projects related to the reconstruction and analysis of coastal mean sea‑level changes with a particular focus on nonlinear vertical land motion and their contribution to coastal flooding.
Possible projects include:
Assessments of vertical land motion based on multiple observational and proxy records.
Mapping reconstructions of coastal sea‑level changes based on tide gauge and ancillary information.
Building Bayesian frameworks that properly account for uncertainties of different observational and model networks.
Applicants with a background in physical oceanography, coastal engineering, geodesy, geosciences, or sea‑level science are especially encouraged to apply.
The earliest start date is January 3, 2024. The position is for one year (contingent upon annual review at year 1) with the possibility of further extension. The starting salary is $65,000 full benefits.
Tulane is a diverse and welcoming community committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Department of River‑Coastal Science and Engineering values inclusive research and collaboration.
Location: Department of River‑Coastal Science and Engineering, Tulane University.
