Mental Health Technician / Direct Support Professional
Located at Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City, Arkansas, immediate opening for a Mental Health Technician/Youth Care Worker. Entry‑level position stepping into psychology/behavioral health.
Responsibilities
Care for patients daily by assessing behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient’s behavior.
Model and teach appropriate life skills to patients.
Orient patients to the unit and assist them with daily living skills.
Provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
Provide physical restraint or intervention if appropriate. Training will be provided.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Degree or equivalent is required. Preferred to have educational or work experience in psychology, human service, nursing, or social work environments.
Experience:
At least one (1) year of related experience in an assisted living, residential, or hospital setting. Psychiatric experience preferred or (1) year experience as a Corpsman in the Military.
Schedule:
Full‑time rotation: 4 days on/2 days off. Hours available: Days: 7:00 am‑3:00 pm, Evening: 3:00 pm‑11:00 pm, Overnight: 11:00 pm‑7:00 am.
Physical:
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, push, and pull to perform restraints.
Minimum age: 21 years.
