The Retail Assistant Branch Manager will support the Branch Manager in driving results, building customer and community relationships, and delivering the Woodforest Experience to every customer.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Branch Manager in achieving sales and revenue goals by proactively identifying, marketing, and recommending banking products and services.
Act as a “Keeper of the Woodforest Culture,” creating energy around retail objectives and initiatives.
Develop and lead innovative strategies to grow, retain, and deepen consumer and business relationships.
Proactively grow business deposits and loans through inside and outside business calling.
Enhance customer experience by warmly greeting, engaging, and building relationships with customers, community members, and retail partners.
Lead technology‑driven customer experiences.
Partner and execute community engagement strategies with a Community Development Relationship Manager.
Inspire and coach team members to reach their full potential, acting as a positive role model.
Demonstrate flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.
Other Responsibilities
Execute branch operational activities (cash and vault balancing; ordering cash, cards, reports, audits, control checks; servicing ATMs; maintaining cleanliness).
Maintain branch security procedures and protect customer confidentiality and privacy.
Practice prudent expense management.
Address customer questions and concerns by phone or in person, ensuring resolution ownership.
Competencies Required
Proactive in seeking business outside the branch.
Leadership, goal‑oriented, disciplined, team‑leader with strong interpersonal skills and sales aptitude.
Open to direct coaching and feedback.
Willingness to work flexible/extended hours to meet business needs; demonstrated reliability.
Passion for people, effective problem‑solving, composure, and positive attitude when interacting with customers and internal team.
Rapid learning of products, services, policies, procedures, regulatory guidelines, and sales processes.
Exceptional organizational skills, prioritization, multitasking, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Understanding of instructions, forms, applications, financial statements, and credit reports.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of sales and/or customer service experience.
OR Associate’s degree + 2 years of sales/customer service experience.
OR Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of sales/customer service experience.
Demonstrable leadership ability; prior supervisory experience helpful.
Previous instore banking experience preferred.
Positive and engaging demeanor.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
