Safety Specialist II
Location: Goodyear, AZ
Base pay range: $72,671.00/yr - $108,954.00/yr
Position Summary Our company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our team. The Safety Specialist will be responsible for identifying and assessing potential safety hazards, developing and implementing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in safety, preferably in data center service operations, and a passion for promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and risks for battery maintenance and installation, HVAC, data center facility operations, and commissioning.
Investigate incidents to determine their root causes and develop corrective action plans.
Provide training and guidance to employees on safety issues and protocols.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that safety issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
Monitor and review safety performance metrics to identify trend areas for improvement.
Stay up-to-date with the latest safety regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental, engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3-4 years of progressive experience in EHS in general industry, preferably with data center maintenance, service and facility operations experience.
Working knowledge of U.S Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and standards and other non-regulatory safety standards applicable to the location.
Knowledgeable with NFPA 70E/LOTO, DOT, and environmental compliance is a plus.
Experience conducting incident investigations and can follow reporting processes. Communicate effectively with client safety team regarding incidents and other action items.
Experience with JHAs, SOPs, MOPS, technical reports and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Computer Skills
Knowledge with experience using Microsoft Office.
Certificates and Licenses
BCSP credentials are a plus (CHST, CSP, etc.)
OSHA 510/500 preferred
First Aid/CPR/AED preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities for this position.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; standing and walking is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
