Eugene Jewett, MD Surgery Center
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in our outpatient Pain Management Clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience in procedure-based or ambulatory care settings, with strong patient-care skills and confidence working in fast-paced clinical environments. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in patient flow, safety, and comfort—particularly during pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure recovery. IV certification is required.
Duties
Admit and discharge patients, ensuring accurate documentation and patient readiness.
Conduct medication reviews, confirming current medications and identifying any discontinued or recently changed prescriptions.
Review patient medical history and provide clear handoff communication to RNs and providers.
Monitor patients recovering from sedation, ensuring stability, safety, and adherence to discharge protocols.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by providers.
Monitor and document vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
Assist with procedure preparation and support providers and RNs during pain-management treatments and injections.
Maintain sterile technique and assist with clinical procedures as needed.
Ensure accurate and timely charting of all patient care activities.
Provide patient and family education related to discharge instructions, follow-up, and medication use.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment according to safety standards.
Requirements
Valid LPN license in the state of practice.
IV Certification (required).
Experience in pain management, ambulatory surgery, recovery, or ICU settings preferred but not mandatory.
Proficient in monitoring vital signs and identifying changes in patient status.
Strong understanding of pre-op and post-op patient-care principles.
Ability to safely assist patients with mobility, transfers, and physical support when needed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Commitment to patient confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical nursing practice.
