Position Overview
The Pharmacist ensures safe, effective, and compliant dispensing of medications while providing patient-centered consultation and supervising pharmacy operations during overnight shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Accept and dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal law
Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns
Ensure prescribed medicines are clinically appropriate and legally compliant
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files
Advise patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and storage
Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications
Deliver patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
Educate patients on proper use of medical devices (blood pressure monitors, glucose meters)
Compound medications for internal and external use; prepare sterile solutions per protocol
Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
Identify drug-related problems and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Qualifications
Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required
Skills:
Strong clinical judgment, patient counseling, inventory management, and team leadership.
