The Graduate Registered Nurse at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for using the nursing process to provide safe, quality patient care, communicating effectively with the multidisciplinary team, and complying with regulatory requirements. The role requires effective leadership skills, problem‑solving abilities, and the ability to respond to rapidly changing patient needs. Clinical Practice & Job Functions

Use the nursing process to provide safe, quality patient care and document accordingly. Work to ensure compliance with all NMHS policies and requirements as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator. Provide patient/family education and act as a resource for existing staff and new employees. Participate in the Preceptor class to ensure proper training of new employees. Maintain communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care to the patient. Attend daily huddles on each unit to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift. Project a caring, friendly, and helpful image to patients and other customers. Utilize the patient’s communication board (whiteboard) to identify name, date, goals, and procedures or tests for the day to keep patients and families informed. Comply with NMHS behavioral standards and regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Maintain competency by staying informed of changing trends in nursing practice and perform required continuing education hours online and in classroom. License by the Board of Nursing for the state. Qualifications

Education Associate’s Degree Nursing (required). Licenses and Certifications RN – Registered Nurse with state licensure and/or compact; CPR – Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation; NIH – National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification; PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Work Experience Entry level. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Must maintain department requirements for continuing education and unit requirements to provide appropriate age‑specific care. - Must have effective communication and teaching skills. - General knowledge of various regulatory and accrediting standards. - Prioritizes, delegates, evaluates work assignments. - Anticipates resources needed. - Assimilates data and reports appropriately. - Orients new employees to the unit and reports progress to charge nurse or nurse manager. - Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills to all customers/co‑workers and in all aspects of patient care and job performance.
