Emergency Care Center Job Summary
Emergency Care Center (ECC):
The ECC is an approximate 70 bed unit and Level II Trauma Center, located in the Critical Care Tower on the first floor. We serve our community’s acute care needs from infants to geriatrics. Our MSTs are crucial team members in the ECC, with a role that supports the RN. They start IVs, obtain labs, perform EKGs, assist with general patient care, answer call lights, and provide continuous cardiac monitoring. As they gain experience, we also offer training with Ultrasound IV and critical care/trauma patients. Our ECC department culture is diverse in that we have staff with all levels of experience and knowledge. We foster a team based approach and work side by side with other departments continuity of patient care. Shift
Mids/Nights Salary Details
Hourly rate is determined by years of experience relating to this role and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $20.00, max of salary range is $28.20. Required Qualifications
Require one of the following:
Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); Paramedic, or a military corpsman; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment; Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a.) currently be enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN); b.) have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN; c.) cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN; and d) Nurse/Practical Nurse Graduate who is eligible and/or scheduled to sit for the NCLEX exam within 12 months of hire date; Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation. Employees hired without the above licensure and/or by years of experience only prior to 11/11/19, are grandfathered in and will have the option of obtaining the stipulated licensure. Require completion of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention class within one (1) year of hire/promotion/transfer date. Preferred Qualifications
Prefer the ability to assess, interact, communicate, and care for specific patient population, served by the department. Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision. Prefer working knowledge of commonly used computer applications. Mandatory Education
