Job Title Licensed Practical Nurse – Senior LPN (Senior Licensed)

Pay Range $77,069 – $82,061 per year

Duties Description

Supervise LPNs and unlicensed staff under direction of RN, physician, or licensed provider.

Monitor resident health status; implement interventions; document thoroughly.

Assist with scheduling and provide nursing duties for residents in CACT homes in Orange and Rockland Counties.

Assign basic care and observational tasks to staff per treatment plans.

Provide care guidelines and training to enhance staff skills; ensure adherence to standards.

Administer medications and treatments; order medications and medical supplies.

Review physicians' orders; maintain compliance documents such as nursing summaries and medical records.

Collaborate with RNs; communicate with primary RNs to promote continuity of care.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Promotion:

License and current registration as LPN in New York State; one year of service as Senior LPN.

Open Competitive:

License and registration to practice as practical nurse in New York State; two years of experience providing nursing care, administering medications, educating families, and supervising direct care staff.

Transfer:

One year permanent competitive, non‑competitive or 55‑b/c status in posted title; eligibility for lateral transfer (or via Sec 70.1, 70.4, 52.6). Transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.

Additional Comments

This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). Positions may be filled via non‑competitive appointment; you need not take an exam but must meet minimum qualifications.

Employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to transition to permanent non‑competitive employment within one year and then to permanent competitive status. No exam required for conversion.

Preference given to OPWDD employees impacted by closures. Indicate on resume if applicable.

All OPWDD employees must maintain eligibility for Medicare and Medicaid programs; continued employment depends on eligibility.
