Job Overview
The Department of Physical Therapy is currently seeking a full‑time Clinic Assistant to work in Miami. The role involves a variety of clerical duties associated with patient‑care unit operations and administrative tasks such as filing records, scheduling lab work, making follow‑up calls, and coordinating prescriptions and lab test results. Core Responsibilities
Assemble, complete, and process patients’ charts and keep patient records accurately identified. Transcribe doctors’ orders and check charts for incomplete histories and operative summaries, bringing issues to the appropriate member of the healthcare team for correction. Order and manage unit supplies to maintain inventory; assist with receiving, distributing, and sorting supplies. Obtain laboratory and x‑ray reports and notify doctors of results. Utilize IDX RIS/PACS to track patient arrival times and advise front desk personnel of patient delays to maintain daily schedule. Greet patients upon arrival, verify patient information, direct them to the dressing room, and ensure appropriate gowning and removal of metal items. Document all equipment issues and report to appropriate managing staff. Assist with copying completed patient paperwork, delivering originals to front desk for scanning, and distributing copies to appropriate reading rooms. Receive telephone calls and respond to inquiries from visitors. Report unusual incidents in a timely manner to appropriate supervisory personnel. Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets. Assist physical and occupational therapists with treatment procedures as directed, including correct setup, preparation, and administration of modalities. Verbally report significant information or changes in a patient’s condition to the relevant therapist immediately. Maintain a safe and clean work area, appropriate equipment logs, and daily water levels in the hydrocollator. Stock linen and prepare treatment areas between patients throughout the day and clean treatment tables, mats, exercise equipment, and thermal modalities to prevent dust, dirt or debris accumulation. Ensure punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts and submit time‑off requests at least one month in advance. Qualifications
