Position Summary The purpose of this position is to monitor and manage specific sections of the main production line and KPI's (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost). Other responsibilities include time and attendance tracking, disciplinary actions, performance and quality issues of each group, and continuous improvement.
Role and Responsibilities
Monitor and evaluate all areas for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Manage Area Leader performance to achieve production KPI's by monitoring the following:
Planned vs. actual.
Process defects.
Cost management - loss, labor cost, etc.
Maximize machine output times to drive productivity.
Perform safety audits in each area and ensure all safety features are functioning, such as safety gates and all other safeguards.
Drive the reduction of defective parts through promoting corrective actions by sustaining the best production conditions.
Manage and sustain buffer Levels in all areas.
Assist in managing inventory control when required.
Provide EHS chemical training to new hires and ensure compliance by conducting yearly refresher trainings for team.
People Management
Train, mentor, guide, and coach associates as needed.
Monitor time keeping, approve timecards, which includes monitoring and calculating FMLA, PTO, etc.
Manage individual employee performance by conducting performance evaluations and delivering performance improvement notifications
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED plus 3 years in production or Associate Degree
Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a Supervisory Role and / or Leadership Role
Knowledge: Knowledge and experience in paint process areas including pretreatment and electrocoat, paint sealer and topcoat process in manufacturing (automotive or product manufacturing).
Skills: Excellent Communication skills (Verbal and Written), Problem Solving Ability, MS Office, and ERP Systems (GMES-PM/RM/SAP).
Physical Demands: Frequently required to stand and walk, must occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds, Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Domestic role. No direct interaction with HQ or region. On-Site.
