Neurodiagnostic Lab Tech/EEG-PT Nights at Wellstar Health System
Position Summary The Neurodiagnostic Technologist I performs EEG studies in the laboratory and at bedside, video/EEG monitoring, ambulatory monitoring and provides descriptive analysis of waveforms. The role does not interpret or correlate clinical data.
Core Responsibilities
Set up and perform EEG procedures with little supervision.
Identify and troubleshoot artifacts and eliminate errors.
Use photic stimulation and hyperventilation appropriately.
Remove electrodes and clean up patient after EEG.
Prepare technical EEG report, charging procedures, and log patient files.
Recognize clinically significant events and intervene if appropriate.
Communicate with other staff and maintain patient safety.
Stock supplies and prepare rooms for EEG procedures.
Perform related duties consistent with patient and technical care.
General Requirements
Adhere to ethical business practices and integrity.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Adhere to dress code and display ID badge.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Attend staff meetings, in‑services, and process improvement activities.
Organize workload and complete responsibilities timely.
Utilize materials and equipment safely and cost‑effectively.
Observe infection prevention precautions.
Strive for customer service and teamwork.
Required Minimum Education
High School Diploma, GED, or Accredited Neuroscience program.
Required Minimum License(s) And Certification(s)
BLS or ARC‑BLS or BLS‑I.
Additional License(s) And Certification(s)
REEG.T within 2 years.
Required Minimum Experience
Less than 1 year Pathway I; Graduate of CAAHEP Accredited NDT Program; 50 EEGs post‑graduation preferred.
Required Minimum Skills
Registry eligible, strong communication, PC and Windows knowledge, customer service.
