Description Of Work
Responsible for the overall management of the Eastern Regional Office and the thirteen (13) correctional facilities located within the Eastern Region of NC.
Oversee custody, administration, programming and maintenance for large institutions, medium sized facilities, and correctional centers.
Serve as the Prisons' Eastern Region Director and report directly to the Deputy Secretary of Institutions.
Perform duties for individuals in the department's chain of command, including the Secretary and Chief Deputy Secretary, on occasion.
Manage the Eastern Region Office and all correctional facilities: personnel, budget, classification, programs, custody, health care, maintenance and fiscal affairs.
Develop, interpret and implement DAC/Prisons policies and procedures; provide consultation and directives in all operational elements.
Direct or supervise Assistant Regional Director, Wardens, Regional Business Officer, Administrative Specialist II; indirectly supervise Regional Programs Manager, Regional Administrative Officer, Regional Security Specialist, and Operations Manager.
Conduct and oversee annual on-site inspections of each facility in the assigned region.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) / Management Preferences
Managerial Leadership experience working in the NC State Prison system.
Salary and Grade Salary Range: $73,096.00 - $142,538.00 (Grade NC22)
