Ophthalmology Practice Manager / Administrator
East Florida Eye Institute (EFEI) is a physician‑led, independent ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced
Practice Manager / Administrator
to oversee
clinical operations, administrative systems, and staff performance
in a busy multi‑subspecialty environment.
This is
not a private equity‐owned practice . Clinical care, staffing decisions, and operational priorities are directed by physicians with a long‑term commitment to quality, stability, and patient‑centered care.
This role requires a
hands‑on leader
comfortable with
clinical oversight, daily problem‑solving, staff accountability, and operational decision‑making . Experience with
Nextech EMR
is helpful. The position also includes involvement in special projects, including the administrative coordination of a
national ophthalmology conference in Snowmass, Colorado .
This is an on‑site position in Stuart, Florida; relocation or a long‑distance daily commute is not expected to be sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily clinic operations and patient flow
Provide clinical operations oversight and support physician productivity
Lead, supervise, and evaluate administrative and clinical support staff
Ensure efficient scheduling, staffing, and workflow
Monitor operational performance metrics and implement process improvements
Oversee billing, collections, compliance, and vendor relationships
Ensure adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and ophthalmology regulations
Serve as a central point of coordination between physicians, staff, and vendors
Assist with planning and logistics for a national ophthalmology conference
Be able to make minor web site edits
Qualifications
5+ years of healthcare management experience (ophthalmology strongly preferred)
Prior clinical operations oversight in a medical practice
Strong leadership, organization, and decision‑making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Schedule & Commitment
Full‑time, salaried leadership position
Typical workweek averages
45–50+ hours , with flexibility based on operational needs
