Position Description As an Applebee's® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of the day‑to‑day operations at the restaurant, ensuring guests and staff are passionate about their experience every day. You will be a team leader, excellent problem solver, capable of handling stress, and will work hard while enjoying the experience.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit.
Creates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs.
Responds immediately to guest complaints and corrects them with staff.
Prioritizes guest contact and completes required table visits as per Flynn Applebee's standards.
Maintains departmental inventory levels.
Ensures product preparation and presentation meets company standards by performing line checks.
Schedules employees effectively to meet sales demands.
Maintains safety and security programs.
Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation.
Performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
Greets and recruits potential team members; promotes manager referrals.
Promotes Flynn | Applebee's training procedures for new managers.
Maintains a trained staff through employment orientation, training sessions, and performance documentation.
Participates in employee development using One‑on‑One and performance documentation.
Assesses employee efficiency, provides feedback, and works on development areas.
Monitors employee performance and documents situations that may require disciplinary action.
Assures compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures.
Controls cost in assigned department.
Complies with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM's request.
Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork.
Ensures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards.
Provides a role model for managers and employees.
Develops skills on all store‑related technology.
Is willing and able to work in all positions and assist as needed (e.g., line cooking, expo, seating, bartending).
Uses the Management Development Program for continuous leadership skill growth.
Education and Experience
At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience.
Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications (plus).
Compensation Applebee's® Assistant Managers are paid $15.38 to $26.44 per hour, approximately $44,850 to $68,500 annually based on a 50‑hour work week. Potential for monthly bonus where applicable by location.
Physical Standards
Work various shifts, including weekends.
Stand and move well‑paced for up to ten (10) hours.
Safely lift up to 50 pounds.
Read and write to facilitate communication with finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
