Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (Nights) – Sign on Availability A leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. Responsibilities include delegating and directing licensed and ancillary staff, ensuring quality patient outcomes, fostering diversity sensitivity, and supporting organizational goals.

Education Required:

Registered nurse diploma.

Work Experience Preferred:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Required:

None.

Certifications Required:

Current registered nurse license in the state of practice, Basic Life Support (BLS). Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire. Preferred:

Certification in a clinical specialty area.

Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.

Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and professionally.

Good organizational and time‑management skills; self‑directed.

Good judgment.

Good interpersonal skills.

Job Duties

Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.

Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patients, families, and interdisciplinary groups.

Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources and serves as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.

Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.

Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale.

Adapts communication style and explanations to specific patient populations.

Performs other related duties as required.

Physical and Environmental Demands Heavy work: occasional lifting of 50 to 100 pounds; frequent lifting of 25 to 50 pounds; constant lifting of 10 to 20 pounds. Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and potential hazardous medications. Occupational risk for communicable diseases and hazardous waste.
