We are seeking a highly motivated
Senior Research Associate
to drive antibody characterization and cell-based functional assays in support of our therapeutic discovery programs. This individual will take a lead role in evaluating antibody leads received from CRO partners, developing in-vitro assays, and optimizing experimental workflows. They will work closely with the Director of Antibody Discovery and Protein Sciences and contribute to both scientific execution and lab coordination in a collaborative startup environment. This position will also support other cell and molecular biology teams as needed and work in a matrixed environment. Key Responsibilities
Lead in-vitro characterization of antibody leads from CROs, including binding, potency, and functional activity assessments. Develop, optimize, and execute biochemical and cell-based assays (e.g., ELISA, SPR/BLI, FACS, reporter and signaling assays) to support antibody selection and optimization. Culture, maintain, and engineer mammalian cell lines for assay development and screening. Express, purify, and analyze recombinant antibodies and proteins as needed for internal studies. Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data to project teams and leadership. Coordinate with CROs to manage study timelines, sample logistics, and data quality. Contribute to assay transfer and troubleshooting across internal and external teams. Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records in electronic laboratory notebooks. Support lab operations, including reagent preparation, equipment oversight, and inventory management. Provide training and day-to-day guidance to junior staff or interns. Participate in experimental design discussions and help shape assay and workflow strategy. Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field. 4–8 years of relevant biotech or biopharma experience with demonstrated independence in assay development and data interpretation. Hands‑on experience with antibody or protein characterization (ELISA, FACS, SPR/BLI, or similar). Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize assays and experimental workflows. Strong organizational, data analysis, and presentation skills. Experience working with or coordinating external research partners (e.g., CROs) preferred. Self‑motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative startup environment. Seniority level
