Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient Tutor to provide one-on-one or small group academic support to students in the identified age and grade target area. This is a school based position in Prince George's County. The Tutor will assist students in improving academic achievement by clarifying learning problems and working on study skills, test preparation, and homework assignments.

Position: Part time (20 hours a week)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide academic assistance in [subject areas, e.g., Math, English, Science, etc. to students from targeted age and grade groups.
Collaboration and coordination with other school team members are important.
Communication with parents and youth in regard to academic progress and identifying needs.
Design and implement effective lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
Monitor student performance and communicate progress to parents, teachers, or supervisors.
Support students in developing study skills, organization, and time management.
Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Maintain confidentiality of all student information.
Schedule and conduct regular tutoring sessions in-person or online.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in Education or relevant subject preferred.
Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience is a plus.
Strong knowledge of subject matter and curriculum.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students learn.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with learning management systems or online tutoring platforms.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities (if applicable).
Experience with students with learning differences (if applicable).
Working Conditions:
This position is an onsite position inside of an identified school.
Punctuality to work is a must.
