Job Description The Tech Lab Teacher position provides dynamic, hands‑on learning and engagement opportunities in computers and technology for youth in the AYCC's After School Program. This role works collaboratively with After School Program teachers to plan and deliver a technology curriculum aligned with program themes and Boys & Girls Club standards. The Tech Lab Teacher fosters creativity, digital literacy, and safe technology use while supporting students of varying ages and skill levels in an engaging, well‑managed learning environment.

Work Schedule
30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 11 am‑6 pm
Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience working with school‑age youth, preferably utilizing technology.
Prior technical experience in any of the following fields preferred: Computer Programming, Graphic Design, Video, Production, Social Media Content Creation, Audio Engineering, 3‑D Printing, Robotics Engineering, Minecraft Coding, video game creation or hardware repair.
Essential Functions
Develop lesson plans for use in the tech lab in correlation with program themes and curriculum, reinforcing and extending learning.
Provide instruction of tech lessons and opportunities: (a) introduce tech lab activities, (b) give guided practice of the lesson activity, (c) allow independent and/or partner work.
Instruct youth on tech equipment, functions, care of, and how technology affects our lives and the value of technology skills.
Inform and instruct youth on internet safety protocols to align with AYCC and BGCA safety and technology policies.
Provide assistance and instruction to help ASP teachers and administrators utilize technology in their classrooms and programs.
Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
Research and recommend technology hardware and software application acquisitions for the purpose of providing effectiveness of instruction to youth.
Assess malfunctions of hardware and/or software applications for the purpose of determining actions to maintain tech lab operations.
Maintain technology hardware and software applications for the purpose of ensuring availability of instruction. Install technology software applications for the purpose of providing instructional materials.

Working knowledge of an array of technical equipment such as 3‑D Printers, Video Cameras, Microphones, Computer Hardware Components, Apple TVs, iPads, Oculus VR Sets, Laptops, Desktop computers and other components as they are introduced to the site technology program.
