Job Type: Full-time; 30 hours per week (Mon‑Fri 11am‑6pm).
Description The Tech Lab Teacher position provides dynamic, hands‑on learning and engagement opportunities in computers and technology for youth in the AYCC’s After School Program. The role works collaboratively with After School Program teachers to plan and deliver a technology curriculum aligned with program themes and Boys & Girls Club standards. The Tech Lab Teacher fosters creativity, digital literacy, and safe technology use while supporting students of varying ages and skill levels in an engaging, well‑managed learning environment.

Essential Functions
Develop lesson plans for the tech lab in correlation with program themes and curriculum.
Provide instruction for tech lessons, including introduction, guided practice, and independent or partner work.
Instruct youth on tech equipment operation, care, and the value of technology skills.
Inform and instruct youth on internet safety protocols aligning with AYCC and BGCA policies.
Assist ASP teachers and administrators in utilizing technology in classrooms.
Manage student behavior to ensure a safe and optimal learning environment.
Research and recommend technology hardware and software acquisitions.
Assess malfunctions of hardware/software and determine actions to maintain operations.
Maintain technology hardware and software applications to ensure availability.
Install technology software applications for instructional materials.
Requirements Knowledge / Education / Certification
Associate’s degree; bachelor’s preferred in technology, computer science, or educational instruction.
Working knowledge of technical equipment such as 3‑D printers, video cameras, microphones, computer hardware components, Apple TVs, iPads, Oculus VR sets, laptops, and desktops.
Experience
At least 2 years’ experience working with school‑age youth, preferably utilizing technology.
Prior technical experience in fields such as computer programming, graphic design, video production, social media content creation, audio engineering, 3‑D printing, robotics engineering, Minecraft coding, video game creation, or hardware repair is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Ability to quickly learn new technical skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Solid planning and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work with groups of different ages and skill levels, providing instruction to children.
Team player.
Work Schedule 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 11 am–6 pm.
Salary: $16.00–$18.00 per hour.
Seniority Level: Entry level.
