Sterling Search Partners is helping a growing Birmingham client with its search for an Outbound Customer Service Representative. The Outbound Customer Service Representative is responsible for proactively contacting existing and prospective customers to schedule service appointments, follow up on estimates, confirm upcoming jobs, and re‑engage inactive customers. This role plays a critical part in driving revenue, improving customer retention, and keeping technicians’ schedules full.
Key Responsibilities
Make outbound calls to existing and potential customers
Schedule service appointments for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other home services
Follow up on unsold estimates and service recommendations
Re‑engage past customers for maintenance, seasonal services, or promotions
Confirm upcoming appointments and reduce no‑shows
Accurately enter and update customer information in CRM or dispatch software
Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate services or maintenance plans
Handle basic customer questions and route complex issues appropriately
Meet or exceed daily call, booking, and conversion goals
Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful tone on all calls
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
1+ year experience in outbound calling, customer service, call center, or inside sales preferred
Experience in home services (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) is a plus
Strong communication and listening skills
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, metrics‑driven environment
Basic computer skills and experience with CRM or scheduling software
Ability to handle objections and stay positive on outbound calls
