Qualifications

No degree is required; High School Diploma/GED preferred.

1 year of retail management experience or previous Goodwill Retail or Warehouse experience required.

Valid MO or IL state driver’s license and insurance.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (customer service, conflict resolution, teamwork).

Leadership skills such as decision‑making, motivation, goal‑setting, and strong problem‑solving.

Comfortable with workplace technology (registers, scheduling, inventory management software).

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

Supervise, direct, and train assigned staff to perform essential functions.

Provide superior internal and external customer service, ensuring repeat donors, shoppers, and staff retention and de‑escalating customer dissatisfaction quickly and effectively.

Coach and counsel employees about job performance, including discipline up to termination.

Exercise independent judgment in assigning daily job duties to achieve operational tasks.

Identify and recommend high‑performing employees for advancement.

Safeguard company property and personal information; report theft, misappropriation, or unethical behavior to management, HR, or Risk Management.

Read, follow, model, and enforce all agency policies, procedures, and values.

Utilize efficient staffing methods; arrange replacements for absent employees; audit, edit, and approve payroll.

Eliminate wasteful practices through process improvement.

Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to MERS Goodwill’s dress code.

Perform other duties as assigned.
