Assistant Manager – Overview

Responsibilities
Deliver friendly, timely service while meeting company guidelines and unit objectives.
Cultivate a culture that reflects Flynn Applebee's core values and brand standards.
Respond promptly to verbal guest complaints, ensuring a positive experience.
Ensure guest contact is a priority by completing required table visits.
Maintain departmental inventory levels and product preparation standards.
Effectively schedule employees to meet sales and labor demands.
Implement and uphold safety, security, cleanliness, and sanitation programs.
Report necessary repairs and support General Manager/Area Director operations.
Promote quality recruitment, referral, and training procedures for management and front‑line staff.
Lead continuous employee development through one‑on‑one coaching, performance documentation, and written evaluations.
Monitor performance, document disciplinary situations, and ensure compliance with company policies.
Control costs for assigned department and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Drive bi‑weekly and weekly food and liquor inventories as requested by the AD/GM.
Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork and maintain sanitation standards that meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards.
Model leadership and implement store‑related technology to support team success.
Willingness to work in all positions, assisting with line, expo, seating, and bartending as needed.
Qualifications
At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience.
Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
Physical Standards
Work various shifts, including weekends.
Stand and exert well‑paced mobility for up to ten (10) hours in length.
Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds.
Read and write to facilitate communication; possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
