Job Summary The primary responsibility of this position is to promote safe and efficient deliveries for our operations and meet customer expectations for each delivery. The dispatcher will manage all customer open orders on company equipment to ensure timely and scheduled delivery. The dispatcher will schedule an appropriate number of drivers for the available work and maintain a schedule that results in an appropriate level of overtime hours.
The dispatcher will plan for and work around short‑term variances in available trucks and drivers. Proper communication to drivers, management, and sales is key to success. The position will manage our business and all weekend deliveries for JRP.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage driver work schedules, overtime, delivery windows, and levels of service.
Manage shift accounts—set up delivery time, gallons, and new business.
Manage all driver daily work for entry the following morning.
Provide daily backup for all JRP deliveries.
Communicate fueling points to each market weekly.
Monitor actual delivery by truck‑by‑customer.
Identify open fueling windows and move all possible first‑shift gallons to fill.
Produce driver fueling metrics—working with Director of Transportation.
Manage truck PM needs.
Manage after‑hour calls to JRP.
Member of the on‑call team.
Education and Experience
Petroleum experience 1–5 years.
Previous experience in managing a driver team.
Demonstrated success in previous work history.
Demonstrated success in an independent work environment.
Goal‑oriented.
Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Will be on‑call rotating weekends.
