Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse – RN Fresenius Medical Care is looking for an Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to work at Cape Cod Hospital, Falmouth Hospital, and Spaulding Rehab Cape Cod.

This entry‑level designation is part of the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). The role provides clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. The RN may delegate tasks to RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians and participates in decision‑making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities.

Purpose & Scope:

The professional registered nurse Inpatient Services RN CAP 1 is accountable for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care for assigned patients, including delegation of tasks to direct patient care staff.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and guidance from the Educator or Preceptor.

Collect and analyze patient data pre‑, during‑, and post‑treatment; document in the medical record and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family learning needs and provide education.

Recognize deviations from normal patient status and report to appropriate team members.

Direct and provide safe, effective care for assigned patients per prescribed modality procedures.

Assess daily patient care needs and collaborate with direct and ancillary staff.

Coordinate communication with FKC and non‑FKC dialysis providers and contracted facility personnel.

Administer intradialytic transfusions, notifying physicians of adverse reactions.

Administer medications and document justification and effectiveness.

Assist with emergency response measures.

Serve as a resource, participate in staff training and orientation.

Provide specialized nursing instruction to hospital/facility staff as required.

Assist in an outpatient facility on an as‑needed basis.

Complete CAP requirements for advancement.

Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Direct patient care involving heavy lifting, patient transfer, and ambulation.

Frequent prolonged standing and ability to bend over.

Occasional movement of up to 200 lbs. equipment; lifting up to 30 lbs. chemical solutions.

Work in a healthcare facility with controlled air temperature and moderate noise.

Possible exposure to infectious materials.

Potential relocation to other sites with similar demands.

Desk and computer work, interaction with patients, staff, and physicians.

Travel for training/meetings between assigned facilities.

Participation in on‑call rotation, night, weekend, holiday shifts as required.

Supervision:

Oversight of Patient Care Technicians/LVN/LPNs/RNs as Nurse in Charge after meeting education and experience prerequisites.

Minimum 9 months RN experience, 6 months acute dialysis experience.

Education & Licensure:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Current state licensure.

Current CPR/BLS certification.

Meet practice requirements in all employed states.

Experience & Required Skills:

Entry‑level RN with

Minimum 9 months RN experience; 12 months preferred.

Preferred 6 months acute dialysis experience.

Preferred hemodialysis or ICU experience.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $35.00 – $59.00
