The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Methods and Procedures Advisor II. Under direction, this role performs complex technical, research, and advisory functions related to communicable disease surveillance. The position assists in developing and implementing tuberculosis (TB) surveillance tools and web‑page design/maintenance. Benefits Statement

Perform complex technical, research, and advisory functions related to communicable disease surveillance. Prepare annual and quarterly reports for the TB Control Program. Develop and maintain procedures for collection, analysis, and reporting of communicable disease cases. Coordinate, implement, and oversee transfer and assimilation of TB data from local health departments and TB authorities to the Department and CDC. Coordinate with TB nurses/Program manager to maintain the TB 101 module. Work with the surveillance specialist and epidemiologist in managing TB databases and applications to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Perform other duties as required or assigned reasonably within the scope above. Minimum Requirements

Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with courses in public administration, accounting, industrial relations, pre‑law or personnel management. Two (2) years of professional experience in public administration, business management or accounting. Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year experience with database management systems. Two (2) years’ experience with spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet). One (1) year experience working with local health authorities. Two (2) years’ experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting data for reports. One (1) year experience providing technical assistance on data entry systems. Conditions of Employment
