Position Summary
The role of the IOP Therapist is to provide clinical assessment, treatment planning, and individual and family direct services to their assigned caseload. The IOP Therapist will facilitate group sessions, participate in clinical supervision, and behavioral staffing. The therapist will comply with regulatory standards for documentation based on The Joint Commission, DCF, and state requirements. The qualities and characteristics of the primary therapist include compassion, healthy boundaries, non-judgment, organized, team player, ethical, and creative.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Complete bio-psychosocial assessments with assigned patients
Critically assess assigned patients to provide the best continuum of care
Facilitate therapeutic services, education groups, and family
Conduct individual and family therapy sessions
Timely and accurate completion of documentation
Communicate patient progress with appropriate referral sources and monitoring agencies
Attend daily treatment team meetings, weekly clinical supervision, and patient behavioral staffing
Utilize empirically supported theoretical orientations and behavioral interventions for creation of individualized treatment plans
Effectively communicate any concerns and utilize multidisciplinary team to develop strategies to modify behaviors
Effective use of multi-culturally competent strategies and approaches to patients in substance use population
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Behavioral Health or related degree
Licensed or Registered MHC/CSW/MFT in the State of Florida
Clinical experience in crisis, behavioral, and therapeutic interventions
One (1) year or more working as a clinician in the addiction and recovery field
One (1) working with adults with addictive disorders and dual diagnoses
One (1) experience facilitating therapeutic groups
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
