About the Business We are a locally owned Sports and Trading Card Game (TCG) store in Fort Worth, Texas. Following the recent acquisition of an established business, we are seeking a full-time Store Manager to oversee daily operations and help continue growing a strong community around sports and TCG collectibles.
Position Overview The Store Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the store’s day-to-day operations, with a primary focus on exceptional customer service and product knowledge. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about sports cards, TCGs, and collectibles, and who enjoys working directly with customers and the local collector community.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming, knowledgeable in-store experience
Manage daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures
Oversee inventory, including buying, selling, pricing, and organizing sports and TCG products
Engage with collectors, players, and hobbyists to build long-term customer relationships
Manage and train staff as needed
Handle point-of-sale transactions, cash management, and basic reporting
Maintain store appearance and merchandising standards
Support events, releases, trade nights, and community activities related to sports cards and TCGs
Required Qualifications
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with sports cards and/or TCGs (Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu‑Gi‑Oh!, etc.)
Ability to communicate confidently with collectors of varying experience levels
Reliable, organized, and capable of working independently
Comfortable with retail systems and basic computer tasks
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in a sports card shop, TCG store, or collectibles-related business
Management or supervisory experience in a retail environment
Deep knowledge of sports, TCG markets, grading, and collectible trends
Competitive pay based on experience
