United States citizenship Master’s degree in social work from a CSWE‑accredited school State licensure or certification at the master’s level Proficiency in spoken and written English per VA policy One year of experience equivalent to GS‑12 Licensure & Certification

Advanced practice level licensure or certification required Must be able to provide supervision for licensed social workers Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Independently organize work, set priorities and meet deadlines Clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation and quality improvement skills Ensure provision of clinical services by supervised staff Delegate authority and manage priorities accurately and timely Analyze operational problems, develop and implement solutions using data effectively Provide staff training and development Preferred Experience

Supervisory experience in a behavioral health environment Experience working with suicidal patients Experience interpreting and using data Duties

Lead suicide prevention program development with Behavioral Health Service and facility leadership Primary point of contact for all suicide prevention matters for Boise VAMC executive leadership Oversee participation in Root Cause Analysis processes and recommend system improvements related to suicide prevention Communicate resolution of suicide prevention issues via issue briefs and written materials Provide evidence‑informed training to clinical and non‑clinical staff and VA community partners Track suicide attempts and serious risk patients at each facility Facilitate suicide prevention hotline response and triage high‑risk referrals Coordinate environmental scans on inpatient psychiatric units to identify elements that may lead to suicidal behavior Act as point of contact for Vet Centers to consult and refer high‑risk Veterans and coordinate services Develop and implement ongoing education plan on risk factors and warning signs for suicide Benefits
